Nice Paulie. There must be something about Helsinki, because there is a pretty good Northern Soul/Motown sounding soul band from that city called Nicole Willis and the Soul Investigators who did a pretty good gig here in Manchester a few months back. (Actually better live than on CD.) On this jazz tip, have you checked out any of the stuff you get on the Italian Schema label? And a current fave of mine; "Bossa nova is not a Crime" by Germany's The Juju Orchestra. With Terry Callier doing guest vocals on one track.
