Accumulated knowledge

There is now a website dedicated to the use of cowbells in popular music. Here is a full list of tunes with this instrument in. Before you click, see if you can name the eight Beatles songs that feature a cowbell.

The Internet's work is now complete.

I was a bit cabbaged when I read this first time and thought this was a list of cowbell styled cover versions. (I don't really know why.) I did look at the site and aside from the dross there are some good tunes on there, though I suspect the definition of a "cowbell" used might be a bit wide. But you have to give some props to any list with "Compared to What" by Les McCann and Eddie Harris, written by Eugene MacDaniels, on it. Gene MacDaniels' album Headless Heroes of the Apocalypse was referred to the FBI by Spiro T Agnew who didn't understand it, but thought it might be subversive. Don't think it has any cowbells on it, but I'll give it a spin over the weekend and let you know if it does.
