Slinky!

Susuration identifies another Islamic demographic that suffers from rigid dress codes.

It can't be much fun being a transvestite over there, can it?

Over where exactly? I suppose anywhere between the UAE to the east coast of Bali where those Moozlim darkies live, right? Who cares to identify them anyway when de-personalising them makes it so much easier to Hate them (with a capital H).

Exactly? GAZA. Can't you read?

Did I say Muslims are 'darkies'? And why do you use the term in such a perjorative way? Are you being sarcastic or ironic? I never know these days.

There are plenty of people who can be accused of de-personalising the people in these pictures, but I'm hardly one of them, am I?

Have you any evidence that I Hate Muslims?

And who exactly are you? 'Anonymous' is a bit depersonalised, don't you think?

In this case, "over there" appears to be Gaza. Follow the link - the information you want is easily found.

Actually, reading your post and your reaction to first commenter is it better to ask---
Were you being ironic by trying to poke fun at the people in this picture? The women pictured in it are lot more brave than silly male idiots like you!

Brave? Fuck off. Warped and deluded, maybe, but brave - no fucking way.

Paulie - I see the Islamophobia Gestapo have got on your case LOL.

What a stupid blog and a silly blog author. Posting muslim bating crap is so New Labour-Pro Homeland Insecurity-bigotry.

For a good bit of anti-arab racism, I'd rather watch Fox News. They do their Muslim bating with more panache and none of this pseudo-socialist bollocks.

I think it's OK to take the piss out of religious maniacs whatever their faith. Personally I've always found nuns quite amusing. What was that Peter Cook and Dudley Moore film where they bounce up and down on a trampoline dressed as nuns? I suppose you'd be offended by that too Mr Pablo?

And it's Muslim-baiting not Muslim-bating - think you're getting confused with something else there mate.

OK. I'm deleting stupid comments now. Anyone who can't see the difference between criticising a religion (which is OK) and criticising a race (which is not) is going to get their comments removed.

I'll leave Jonny's post on as he illustrates the above point perfectly (and discredits himself by his abusive language at the same time).

Except that faith-hate and race-hate are tantamount to the same thing: prejudice.

So if you post hate posts, however 'funny', why is it so surprising that some find it offensive? And besides, posting pics of Arabs and pointing it out for ridicule is not Peter and Dudley funny.

Throw it in the bin consigned for things like: 'Blacks and dogs need not apply' please.

Who mentioned hate?

Surely no religion is above ridicule. Most religions are an unhealthy mixture of superstition and social control and we're perfectly entitled to mock them. Pick up a Bible - it's full of bigotry and nonsense. Am I really being prejudiced in saying that; would you deny me my right to say that?

The people in the pictures happen to be Arabic but it is not their 'Arabness' that is being ridiculed. It is their machismo and militarist (and religious) fervour that is being mocked.

You're choosing to see racism where there isn't any Islingtony.

who are u or pauli(?) to judge what others find offensive?

>>It is their machismo and militarist (and religious) fervour that is being mocked.<<

except that they are women.

I know they are women. However, in the last paragraph of the original post it says this:

"The other thing to question is whether it really is women under the veil/jilbab combo. From these photos it is hard to tell, no? Although it is slightly comical to think of a group of macho Hamas blokes mincing in female islamic dress for the sake of a bit of agitprop."

Read it. You'll find it is mocking the machismo of such militarist/religious/political groups.

I don't remember putting myself up as the arbiter of what is or isn't offensive. But I do think you need to alter your 'offensive radar' to a lower setting and get yourself a sense of humour into the bargain.
